Tina is a 23 year-old Romanian girl from Arad, a city in the western part of Romania. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics in 2009 and is now studying a Masters degree in Economics & Public Administration, which she can continue by distance learning while in the UK. She also has a diploma as a manicurist technician.

She wants to be an au pair because she loves being with children, can study by distance learning and is interested in getting to know new people in a new place.

Tina enjoys cycling, jogging, aerobics, horse riding, ice skating, basketball and badminton. As well as playing sport she likes to socialise with friends, surf the internet, pets/animals, theatre and watching snooker on the television.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Tina's brother has a 4 year old niece and a 1 year old nephew. She has been looking after her niece for the last 3 years. Once a week she picks her up from the kindergarten at 4pm and brings her home to her flat. For a few hours she will spend time with her, playing games, watching cartoons on TV together. The little girl likes to practice getting made up in front of the mirror imitating Tina. She looks after her until 7pm in the evening although in the summer months this can be much longer, as her brother is a driving instructor and he works for longer hours in the summer months. Her brother collects her on his way home in the evening. Since her mother is retired and has stayed at home, she often baby-sits for other children of neighbours in the apartment block. Tina therefore has quite a lot of experience helping her mother out with this. Most of these children are babies and small infants.

English Skills:

Tina has studied English for 10 years and was able to have a reasonable conversation with me. She required a little help with a few questions but we could have got around these had we not had any help from someone assisting with languages.

Housework:

Tina is prepared to care for babies and young children, undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), washing, shopping (Food, Groceries), cooking for children, driving and caring for pets.

Character:

considers that she is sociable, funny, active, responsible and friendly.

Eating Preferences:

Tina eats cereal and milk for breakfast, something prepared for lunch such as chicken with mashed potatoes and another meal in the evening. She likes pasta, pizza but doesn't like garlic.

Driving:

Tina passed her driving test in May 2008 and drives once or twice a month, driving a Dacia (a Romanian car) if she drives.

Family:

She lives in a flat with her Mother who is now retired. She has 3 older brothers and a sister who all live away in their own homes. Her sister is 12 years older and her brothers are older than that. Tina's Father died when she was 5 years old. Her sister is a shopkeeper, two eldest brothers have a business involved in the steel industry and her third brother is a driving instructor.
