Basic Information:

Stela is a 25 year-old Romanian girl from Craiova, a city in the southern part of Romania. She graduated from the Faculty of Sports last year. She tried to find a job, but there were no available jobs as a sports teacher. She is currently unemployed.

She wants to be an au pair because she wants to meet to new people and to make new friends. She would also like to know the British culture. She thinks that her English will improve if she will speak it daily.

Stela enjoys travelling (she was in Spain and Germany this summer). In Germany she participated to a cultural exchange for one week – she was there with other Romanians, French and Germans. She likes watching sports on the TV (especially tennis and table tennis). Every Sunday she goes to church, but is not a problem for if there won’t be an orthodox church nearby.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Stela had school practise during her University. She did this 3 times a week for 2 months. She taught children tennis table (this was her specialisation) and sport and traditional dancing. She was mainly helping the teacher during her practise. Stela was a volunteer for a foundation “Save the children”. She worked there 4 hours daily for 3 weeks. The children were aged between 6 to 10 years old. She worked with them, played with them in the park and took them to trips. She would be able to teach children table tennis or dances if they want. She would like a more independent family.

English Skills:

Stela’s English is fair/good. She has studied it for 3 years. She needed help with translating some words. She would like to attend English classes in the UK.

Housework:

Stela is prepared to care for children and older children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), laundry and shopping (Food, Groceries).

Character:

Stela thinks herself as sociable, calm, active, friendly. For her is important to have many friends. She doesn't know how to cook.

Eating Preferences:

Stela eats anything and is not a fussy eater. She doesn’t like spicy food.

Driving:

Stela has not taken her driving test.

Family:

She lives in a 2 room-apartment in Craiova with her Mother, Father and brother. Her sister (27 years old) lives in Italy. Her Mum is 55 years old, her Father is 50 years old; both of them are unemployed. Her brother works in construction. They have a small dog.
