Roxana B - 23 years old    

Basic Information:

Roxana is a 23 year-old Romanian girl from the city of Drobeta Turnu Severin. She lives in Timisoara with one friend. She moved there when she started University. She graduated last year from the Faculty of Psychology as a social worker. She is qualified as a teacher and in Psychology. At the moment she works for a mobile company in Romania.

Roxana wants to be an au pair because she likes children (she realised this when her niece was born). She also wants to improve her English and to try to make a life in the UK.

She likes spending time with her friends, watching movies, going for walks, going for picnics and spending time with her niece (when she is home). She also likes taking pictures of her friends and family. She is a sociable person and likes spending her free time with others.

Childcare Experience:

Roxana looks after her niece every time she goes home to Drobeta Turnu Severin. The girl is 1 year old. She looked after her since she was born (that's when Roxana realised she likes children a lot). She knows how to change nappies, take a bath or feed a baby. She worked as a volunteer in different schools during the University - she taught children Maths, Romanian and Sports. She also helped her step Mum looking after her sister. Because there is a 7 year difference between Roxana and her sister, she had to look after her when her Mum was busy. She has no preferences regarding children's age, but she prefers babies.

Language Skills:

Her English is fair/ good. She needed a little help with some more complicated answers. She speaks little French and Spanish.

Housework:

Roxana is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying /vacuuming /dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, cooking for children and driving. She enjoys cooking and likes trying different recipes.

Character:

Roxana's friends would say that she is honest, neat and tidy, loyal, sociable and understanding.

Eating Habits:

Roxana likes soups, mushrooms, potatoes and homemade food, but she doesn't like fast food.

Driving:

Roxana passed her driving test 3 years ago. She drives every time she goes home - because she doesn't have a car in Timisoara. She said she likes driving because it relaxes her.

Family:

She lives with a friend in a rented apartment in Timisoara (she moved there when she started University). She has 2 step sisters and 1 step brother. Her Mum passed away and her Father married again some years later.
