Paula is a 24 year-old Romanian girl from Oradea, a city in the western part of Romania. She graduated from the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering. She tried to find a job in her domain, but couldn’t find one. She is working now at a bank, but feels that this doesn’t fit her.

She wants to be an au pair in order to improve her English and thinks that being an au pair will be very useful for her. She also believes that this experience will help her when she eventually has her own children. She would like to be placed in a town or city because she likes having different facilities (shops or English classes etc.) nearby.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Paula looked after a boy 5 years ago. She did this during the summer holidays for 2 years. The boy was 4 years when she started looking after him and she usually spent 6 or 7 hours a day with him. Because his parents were working many hours she had to spend all day with the boy and she really enjoyed the experience. Two years ago, she also looked after a girl who was 6 months old. She did this 4 hours a day when the girl’s Mum was busy or had to go out. She knows how to change nappies, to bath or to feed a baby. She says she prefers younger children (babies and up to 5 years old), but she is open to all ages.

English Skills:

Paula’s English was good and she had no problem in understanding or answering my questions.

Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks Spanish and French at a medium level, Italian (beginner).

Housework:

Paula is prepared to care for babies and children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), ironing, shopping (food/groceries), gardening, driving and caring for pets.

Character:

Paula describes herself as serious, responsible, calm, sensible and friendly; she likes everyone around her to be happy. She said that she always likes to finish what she starts.

Eating:

Paula likes eating most things. She says that she is open minded and willing to try different types of food.

Driving:

Paula passed her driving test in 2009. She drives regurarly her boyfriend's car.

Family:

Her Father (50 years old) is retired, her Mum (45 years old) is a waitress and her sister (21 years old) is a student. Her parents live in a small town near Oradea. She lives in Oradea with her boyfriend.
