Mihaela B - 27 years old    

Basic Information:

Mihaela is a 27 year-old girl from Oradea, a city in the western part of Romania. She graduated from the University of Mathematics and IT in 2005. She started to work as a driving instructor two years ago and, even though she really likes her job, she wants to start a new life in the UK.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and likes spending time with them. She wants to improve her English and is really interested in attending classes to achieve her goal. She is available from April 15th and would like to be an au pair for at least one year.

Mihaela likes walking, listening to music, socialising with friends, skiing and reading. She likes going skiing during the weekend. She also likes taking pictures when she is in the nature. She would like to learn riding a horse.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Mihaela worked as a volunteer in a day care in 2002. She worked daily for 2 years; here she worked with children aged between 2 and 9 years old. She helped the personnel with feeding the children, taking them out for a walk, dressing/undressing them, etc. She helped her cousin looking after her son since she gave birth. Because her cousin is a single mum, she needed a lot of extra help and Mihaela helped her at least twice a week. She has experience looking after babies (changing nappies, feeding or washing them); the boy is 9 years old and she still looks after him occasionally. When she was in high school, she looked after a 1 year old girl, when her parents were busy. During the summer holiday she used to spend time with the girl and supervised that she plays safely. She has no preferences regarding children’s age.

English Skills:

Her English is good, she has studied it for more than 10 years; she thinks that it needs to be improved and that’s why she wants to attend English classes.

Other languages:

Her Mother tongue is Romanian. She also speaks Spanish, Italian and German (beginner) and Hungarian (advance).

Housework:

Mihaela is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), care for children or older children, washing, ironing, driving.

Character:

Mihaela considers that she is calm, helpful, patient, serious and responsible.

Eating:

Mihaela likes eating home cooked food. She prefers eating meat and pasta; she doesn’t like olives and mushrooms.

Driving:

Mihaela passed her driving test in 2002. She is a driving instructor for 2 years, so she doesn’t think she will have any problems driving in the UK.

Family:

She lives with her Mother and Father. Her Mum is 57 years old and works in a pharmacy; her Father is 66 years old and is retired. She has a 31 years old brother who lives in a different city.
