Lucia C - 27 years old

Basic Information:

Lucia is a 27 year-old Romanian girl from the city of Bucuresti, the capital of Romania. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Letters. She worked as a journalist for different magazines, but she is unemployed at the moment.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes travelling and meeting new people. She thinks the au pair programme will offer her the advantage of improving her English and looking after children. She would like to be placed in London or in the nearby area – she visited London and really liked it and would like to see it again.

She enjoys going to parks, walking, sports, cooking and going to gym.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Lucia worked for a magazine focused on Mums and toddlers. She had to do a lot of research on the subject, so has been in contact with many specialists and has a lot of knowledge about the subject. She taught English for one year to 2 children aged 5 and 6 years old. She also looks after her cousin because his parents work many hours. She takes him to school, helps him with homework, prepare meals for him, etc. She has no preferences regarding children’s age, she thinks she can handle children of all ages.

Language Skills:

Her English is good. Her Mother tongue is Romanian. She also speaks French (basic).

Housework:

Lucia is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying /vacuuming /dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), looking after babies, children or older children, washing, ironing, cooking for children, gardening and handiwork.

Character:

Lucia’s friends would say that she is easy adaptable, independent, responsible and uses her initiative.

Eating:

She likes fish and chicken, salads, etc. She likes only food that is not extremely spicy.

Driving:

Lucia has not passed her driving test.

Family:

She lives with her Mother, Father and one of her brothers. Her Mother is 50 years old and works in a hospital. Her Father is 58 years old and is retired. Her brothers are 32 and 29 years old.
