Lavinia L - 28 years old

Basic Information:

Lavinia is a 28 year-old Romanian girl from Timisoara, a city in the south western part of Romania. She moved to Oradea and now lives there. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics in 2003. She currently works as an accountant, but with all the hard work to gain her qualifications; she feels undervalued in her job. She looked at the au pair program and becuse she loves children she sees it as an opportunity to make a change in her life.

She wants to be an au pair because she wants to work in something different and thinks that working with children will be a good opportunity. She also wants to get to know new people and to see life in other countries. She has no preferences regarding the location.

Lavinia likes surfing the web and playing sports like: aerobics, cycling, hill walking and horse riding.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

When she wasn’t working, she helped her neighbour looking after her boy (he was 12 years old). She took hime and picked him up from school, prepared his lunch and together they waited for his parents to come home. She also helped a friend look after her children: a 4 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. Her friend lives near Oradea and Lavinia usually goes there during the holidays and weekends. She helps her friend with cooking for the children, dressing them, and babysitting when her friends needs it.

Lavinia is prepared to care for babies ,children and disabled children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), ironing, shopping (food/groceries), driving, cooking for the family and caring for pets.

Lavinia describes herself as serious, hard working, careful, neat and tidy, organiser and warm hearted.

Eating:

Lavinia likes eating almost everything; she rarely eats spicy food.

Driving:

Lavinia has passed her driving test in 2004. She drives daily different cars from her work – she drives now a Volkswagen Polo.

Family:

She bought an apartment last year and lives there with her sisters: one of them is 26 years old and works as a secretary; the other one is 20 years old and is still a student.
