Karolina is 20 year-old Polish girl from Lwowek Slaski, a town in Poland (she will be 21 in September). She graduated high school in 2008 and worked for the police in Poland, but her contract ended, so she wanted to come and start a new life in England. She arrived here 1 month ago and worked in a cosmetics factory for 2 weeks, but they made her redundant as there was not enough work and they reduced their personnel. She lives with her cousin and her cousin's fiancee in Peterborough.

She would like to be an au pair because she likes children and worked as a babysitter in Poland. She wanted to come as an au pair, but her family told her it's better to go and live with her cousin first. She is available immediately and wants to be a long term au pair.

Karolina likes basketball (she played it for 3 years), photography, reading, socialising with friends, sightseeing, cooking, surfing the web and going to the cinema.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Karolina worked as a babysitter for some friends of her in Poland. The first couple had 2 boys aged 1 and 5 years. The second couple had 2 girls aged 2 and 4 years old. She spent all day long with the children and she usually worked 3 or 4 times a week. She cooked for them, read stories or helped them with their homework and other activities to keep them busy. She has a sister that is 10 years younger than her. Because her Mum worked long hours, she had to look after her sister and to cook for her too.

Language Skills:

Her English is good and she understood all my questions and was able to give the answers without any help with the translation. Her Mother tongue is Polish. She also speaks German.

Housework:

Karolina is prepared to care for babies, children, older children, children with disabilities, elderly, shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, gardening, driving, caring for pets, cooking for children and for the family.

Character:

Karolina considers that she is patient, easy going, funny, active, helpful, responsible, flexible and hard working.

Eating Habits:

Karolina eats almost everything. She doesn't like white bread and potatoes.

Driving:

Karolina passed her driving test in September 2008. She has been driving daily in Poland. She drove a Ford Mondeo and a Mazda 6. She drove several times here in England an Opel Corsa (her cousin's fiancee car). She loves driving and doesn't have problems driving on the other side of the road.

Family:

Her Mum is 45 years old and works in a factory where they produce wallets and bags. Her Father is 44 years old and works as a mechanic in Germany. She has 2 younger sisters, Paulina (18 years old) who attends high school and Iulia (10 years old) who is in primary school.
