Basic Information:

Elena is a 26 year-old Romanian girl from Arad, a city in the west of Romania. She finished high school and was working as a waitress in Italy for 3 years but has been back in Romania since last year.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and she would like to improve her English skills. She thinks that she understands children's needs and that she would be able to take care of any child. She has no preference regarding the type of location where she will be placed.

Elena likes reading, watching TV and surfing the web. She is available from 1st of June and would like to work as an au pair for more than one year.

She smokes occasionally, but in any case she would be happy not to smoke in family house or in front of the children.

Childcare Experience:

Elena has some experience with children. She took care of her nephew for 3 years (the child was 6 years old when she began to take care of him). She spent all day long with him. She made sure he was up on time in the morning, helped him to wash and dress, fed him, took him to kindergarten and got him ready for bed in the evening. Elena also took care of her neighbour's boy. She started to take care of him 9 months ago and is still taking care of him now. She really enjoys helping him with his homework.

English Skills:

Her English was fair and I had to repeat some questions in order for her to understand it.

Housework:

Elena is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, cooking for children and caring for pets.

Character:

Elena considers herself calm, friendly, responsible, sociable, disciplined and hard working. She thinks that her best friend would describe her as being shy when she meets someone for the first time.

Driving:

Elena has not passed her driving test

Family:

She lives with her Mother and her Sister. Her Mother is 50 and is working as a cleaner; her Sister is 24 years old.
