This candidate is no longer interested in being an Au Pair
Doina (Ina for friends) is a 28 year-old Romanian girl from Arad, a city in the western part of Romania. She graduated from the University of Arts, specialising as a fashion designer. She worked as a hairstylist in Italy for 1 year and now she has her own saloon. She went bankrupt and in January will have to finish her documents to close her business.
She wants to be an au pair because she has experience with children and likes working with them. She also wants to get to know the UK and thinks that this programme will be a good opportunity for her. She will be available starting from 1st February 2010.
Doina likes taking pictures, drawing and painting, cooking, surfing the web and going to the cinema. She also likes aerobics, cycling, swimming and ice skating.
She is a non smoker.
Doina has been a babysitter for 2 families. She worked for a family from Israel who had 3 children. She worked in shifts of 12 or 24 hours as the family needed someone to be with the children 24 hours per day. She worked with 2 other girls (they worked in different shifts). She had to look after 3 children aged 9 months, 1 year and a half and 4 years. She had to look after them all, but mainly the little one. She had to get up with the children, feed them, prepare their lunch boxes; the children’s Mum took the older child to kindergarten and she had to look after the other 2 children. She had different activities with the children: drawing, painting, building, etc. She also had to clean the house and to wash their clothes. The second family she worked for had 3 children, and she mainly had to look after the younger child because he was recently born. With this family she had the same duties as at the first one. She also helped her sister with her children (she has 3 children aged 5, 7 and 9 years old). She helped her look after them when her sister was busy or she had to go out.
Doina’s English was very good and we were able to have a varied conversation.
Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks Italian (fluent).
Doina is prepared to care for babies, children and older children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), washing, ironing, shopping (food/groceries), cooking for children and for the family, handiwork and driving.
Doina describes herself as strong, but flexible, ambitious, independent, polite, active, very creative and motivated person. She would like to work for a family who needs someone to work as many hours as possible.
Doina said that she is not picky, she eats pretty much everything and the only thing she doesn’t like is pork.
Doina passed her driving test in June 2006. She drives daily and has her own car (Ford K).
Her Father (54 years old) works as a locksmith; her Mum (49 years old) works as a tailor. She has a brother who is 26 years old and a sister who is 30 years old.
