Diana I - 23 years old

Basic Information:

Diana is a 23 year-old Romanian girl from Timisoara, a city in the south western part of Romania. She graduated last year from the Faculty of Psychology. She is studying for her Masters degree in Clinical and Counselling Psychology (first year). She is available from 1st August 2010 until end of September 2010.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and sees this as an enriching experience. She likes working with children and observing their behaviour. She likes England and wants to get to know the country. She would like to be placed in a city or a town.

Diana likes socialising with friends, reading, listening to music, dancing, going to the cinema and theatre. She also likes craftwork, painting and playing the guitar.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

She was a babysitter for 3 families. Her duties were looking after young children, changing their nappies, cooking and feeding them, take them out for walks and playing. During summer holidays she looks after her nieces since they were babies. She likes playing with them, painting and drawing, playing the guitar and other games to develop their imagination. She helps the older girl with her homework and teaches her Maths and English. Every summer she looks for volunteer jobs that involve working with children. She usually works with children coming from poor or broken families. They organise in different cities campaigns for these children. They usually play different games with them and organise different activities to make them forget about the problems they have at home. Diana also visited some of the children and donated food and clothes for them. One of the summers she went in a trip with a group of children. She was responsible for 10 children and had to organise different activities for them.

English Skills:

Diana’s English is very good; she had no problems in expressing her ideas.

Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks German, Spanish and Italian.

Housework:

Diana is prepared to care for babies, children and disabled children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), washing, ironing, shopping (food/groceries), caring for pets, cooking for children and for the family.

Character:

Diana describes herself as creative, sociable, organizer, active, friendly and positive attitude.

Eating:

Diana tries not to eat meat (when she eats she prefers fish). She prefers vegetables, fruits and yogurts. She doesn’t like pork and chocolate.

Driving:

Diana has not passed her driving test

Family:

She lives with her parents. Her Mum is 60 years old and is retired. Her Father is 55 years old and works as an electrician. She has 2 brothers (33 and 40 years old) and a sister (34 years old).
