Basic Information:

Daniela is a 25 year-old Romanian girl from Ploiesti, a city in the southern part of Romania. She moved to Cluj Napoca when she started University. She graduated from the Faculty of Journalism two years ago. She is studying now for a PHD (her thesis is about Cultural meanings of the Muslim veil).

She wants to be an au pair because she wants to know a different country. She was in Italy with the Erasmus programme and really enjoyed the experience. She wants the chance to live in another country and thinks that the au pair programme will be a good way to get to know other cultures. She wants to finish her first year and will be available from September 2010.

Daniela likes reading, listening to music, going to the theatre and cinema. She also likes surfing the web and talking to her friends from Italy.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

During the high school in the summer holidays she looked after her cousin’s son. She did this since the boy was 3 years old until he was 5 years old. She cooked for him (light meals), played with him, took him to the park, etc. She also looked after her nephew when he was younger. When they were together she woke up with him, gave him breakfast, took him outside to play, washed him, watched cartoons with him, etc.

English Skills:

Daniela’s English is good; her thesis for PHD will be in English.

Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks Italian (advanced) and French (medium).

Housework:

Daniela is prepared to care for children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), washing, ironing, shopping (food/groceries), cooking for children, gardening and caring for pets.

Character:

Daniela describes herself as hard working, intelligent, reliable, punctual, flexible, friendly and hyper- active.

Eating:

Daniela tries to eat healthy; she very rarely eats pork or beef. She prefers fish, chicken, salads and pasta.

Driving:

Daniela has not passed her driving test.

Family:

Her parents moved to the countryside. Her Mum is 59 years old and her Father is 60 years old; they are both retired. She has a brother (37 years old) who has a 8 years old son. She lives in a rented apartment in Cluj Napoca.
