Daniel T - 23 years    

Basic Information:

Daniel is a 23 year-old Romanian man from the city of Buzau. He is currently attending university in Bucuresti and graduates in June with a degree in Public Alimentation and Tourism. He has worked for two summers in hotel housekeeping and as a waiter, and thinks he would very much like to come to the UK to improve his English and would be happy to work as an au pair for a year.

Daniel would consider placements in any location.

He enjoys sports especially football, watching football and snooker, walking, camping in the mountains, photography, going out dancing with his girlfriend.

He is a non-smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Daniel has been taking care of his cousin's son who is now 18 months old. His cousins are moving out of a flat into a house they are renovating and many weekends Daniel helps out by taking his nephew out for the day to give them opportunity to get on with things. He is used to taking him to children's playgrounds and activity parks. He is also used to feeding him and changing nappies. He enjoys his time doing this and it makes him very happy to be with him. He has some practical experience of housekeeping because he worked from May until November in 2008 at a hotel in Bran near Brasov. He was a housekeeper/chambermaid. He also worked in Greece as a waiter in the summer on 2009 - this is where he met his girlfriend Teodora.

Language Skills:

Daniel's English is quite good. Our conversation was reasonably fluid and there were only a couple of times he couldn't find the correct word in English. He also speaks French at a fair level and he studied German for 5 years when he was younger but has mainly forgotten the language.

Housework:

Daniel is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying /vacuuming /dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, cooking for children and caring for pets. Daniel's Grandparents have a small holding with pigs, chickens and goats so he is also comfortable dealing with livestock.

Character:

Daniel thinks that he is a very calm person. He is ambitious and serious about things.

Eating Habits:

Daniel enjoys all Romanian food and eats most things. When he was in Greece there were a few things he didn't enjoy too much but generally he will eat anything. He enjoys hot, spicy food.

Driving:

Daniel passed his driving test in 2008 and drives occasionally. He lends his cousin's car and has driven a few times between Buzau and Bucuresti - a distance of about 100km each way.

Family:

His parents live in Buzau in a house in the centre of the city. His Father works in the theatre organising productions and running a theatre museum, His Mother is a bus conductor. Daniel spends most weeks in Bucuresti when he is at university and goes home at the weekend.
