Basic Information:

Dana is a 26 year-old girl from Sibiu, a city in the central part of Romania. She graduated from the University of Economical Science in 2006. After graduating, she started to work in a bank – she still works there. She will have to give a 2 weeks notice before coming to England.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and she thinks the au pair programme will help her to get the Blue Card after one year. Her future term plan is to get a better job in the UK, but first she wants to improve her English. She will be available after Easter.

Dana likes reading (useful books), listening to music, shopping, cooking, walking and going to the cinema. She also likes cycling, running (she runs daily) and swimming.

She is a social smoker – she only smokes when she goes out with friends. She accepted not to smoke in front of the children or inside.

Childcare Experience:

Dana helps her Mum to look after a 2 year-old boy. The boy spends every day in her apartment and when her Mum is busy, she looks after the boy. She takes him out in the park, plays with him, puts him to bed during the day, etc. She thinks that she will be a good au pair because she spends a lot of time with the boy and enjoys the experience.

English Skills:

Her English is good, she has studied it for 10 years –she needed help with some questions, but she understands most things.

Other languages:

Her Mother tongue is Romanian. She also speaks Spanish (beginner).

Housework:

Dana is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), care for children or older children, washing, ironing, gardening, handiwork, driving, looking for pets, cooking for children and for the family.

Character:

Dana considers that she is sociable, serious, reliable, caring, neat and tidy, hard working and polite. At the interview she was quite nervous, but she managed to get over this.

Eating:

Dana likes eating most foods. She doesn’t like fish very much so she eats it rarely.

Driving:

Dana passed her driving test in March 2007 and since then she drives daily (has her own car, a Skoda Octavia). Last year she visited England and spent here 2 weeks. During this period, she drove a British car, so she doesn’t think she will have problems with her driving.

Family:

She lives with her Mother and Father. Her Mum is 52 years old and is retired; her Father is 54 years old and is a worker.
