Basic Information:

Cristina is a 27 year-old Romanian girl from Cluj- Napoca a city in the western part of Romania. She was born in Ramnicu Valcea, a city in the south of Romania. She came to Cluj Napoca when she started university and graduated from the Faculty of Psychology in 2006. She is unemployed.

She wants to be an au pair because she sees this as an opportunity to discover UK, to meet new people and to work with children. She also thinks that is a good opportunity to improve her English and to attend some other classes too. She will be available starting from February 2010.

Cristina likes listening to music, dancing, going to the theatre and socialising with friends. She also likes running, ice skating, tennis, badminton and hill walking.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

From March until June she worked as a psycho- pedagogue with children with disabilities. She organised different games for them from what they could learn different useful games (the children were aged from 3 to 5 years old). She also had different activities and exercises that helped them to improve their movement. She also looked after her nephew since he was a baby. Every time her sister was busy, she called Cristina to look after him. Even though it was challenging for her (she always had to be careful because the boy was very active and she had to be careful not to hurt himself), she enjoyed the experience. She cooked for him, took him to the kindergarten, played with him and spent time with him until her sister was back from work.

English Skills:

Cristina’s English is good; she has studied it for 8 years.

Other languages:

Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks French and Greek (beginner).

Housework:

Cristina is prepared to care for children, to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), washing, ironing, cooking for children, handiwork and caring for pets.

Character:

Cristina describes herself as sociable, active, organiser, helpful, co-operative, warm hearted and responsible.

Eating:

Cristina tries to keep fit and doesn’t eat fats. She tries to eat meat as rarely as possible; she enjoys eating light meals, seafood, salads and spicy food.

Driving:

Cristina has passed her driving test in 2007 and drives once or twice a month.

Family:

She comes from a big family: she has 6 siblings, but all of them live in different cities. Her Mum (59 years old) and her Dad (61 years old) are both retired; they live in Ramnicu Valcea.
