Cristina S- 20 years old

Basic Information:

Cristina is a 20 year-old Romanian girl from Bucharest, the capital of Romania. She is a student in the first year at the Faculty of Business and Marketing. She wants to quit her studies or to change to distance learning.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and thinks she is like an older child. She would also like to improve her English skills. She has no preference regarding the type of location where she will be placed.

Cristina likes listening to music, dancing and surfing the web. She is available from the beginning of September and would like to work as an au pair for one year.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Cristina has some relevant experience with her neighbor's son, Mario. She used to take of him during the summer holiday; the boy was 6 years old. She used to spend many hours each day with him, to get him ready and to take him to kindergarten. When she was taking care of him she used to walk with him and the dog to the park, she played with him and they always had dinner together. She enjoyed the experience especially because the parents were very satisfied that she had been able to create a really strong relation between Mario and herself. She thinks she learnt from this experience in that she needs to be responsible and is sure that she knows better what a child needs.

English Skills:

Her English was basic/fair and I had to repeat some questions in order for her to understand them.

Housework:

Cristina is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), care for older children, washing, ironing, gardening, handiwork and caring for pets.

Character:

Cristina considers herself trustworthy, serious, funny, friendly, responsible, sensitive, and a good organiser. She thinks that her Dad would say that she is shy when she first gets to know someone. After she knows them better, she has no problems and she feels confident she will adapt to living with a new family.

Driving:

Cristina has not passed her driving test.

Family:

She lives with her Father. Her Father is 54 years old and is working at the national railway. She has two sisters that are older; they are 32 and 28 years old.
