Cristina is a 26 year-old Romanian girl from St Andre, a village close to Oradea in western Romania. She graduated university with a degree in English & Romanian. For the last 5 years she has been working as a coordinator for security personnel but this is just 4 hours a day while she was at university.

She wants to come as an au pair because she worked with children before and enjoyed the experience. She would like a family that needs more working hours because she tries to raise money to help her family.

Cristina enjoys reading the Bible and talking about it (with Christian people). She wouldn't have a problem if the family is a different religion.

Cristina currently smokes 5 or 6 cigarettes each day but agrees not to smoke in the house or in front of the children.

Childcare Experience:

Cristina enjoys working as an animator at the local Catholic church. This role is voluntary and she engages the children who go to the church in various activities - teaching them bible stories, reading, putting on plays etc. She has been doing this for 6 months each Saturday from 10am - noon. There are 20 children in the class and three animators. Sometimes they take the children on short trips outside of the village. She has also taught English and Romanian to children in both a High School and a private school as part of her work practice when she was qualifying to be a teacher. Each teaching practice lasted one month each. She has experience of going looking after her brother's children (niece & nephew) who lived with Cristina and her parents for a period after Cristi was born. She would take them to a park, buy them ice cream, read books to them, helping them with homework, etc.

Language Skills:

Her English is excellent. We talked about most things very easily and her pronunciation is very clear.

Housework:

Cristina is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying /vacuuming /dusting), shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, cooking for children and caring for pets. Cristina has professed to not being a very good cook so is not happy to cook complex dishes. She is used to helping her mother with the housework.

Character:

Cristina's friends would say that she is a serious person, always punctual, sincere and that she believes in God. She also thinks that she is tenacious.

Driving:

Cristina has not passed her driving test.

Family:

She lives in St Andre with her parents. She has a brother who is 30 years old and lives in Germany with his wife and children.
