Andreea B - 20 years old

Basic Information:

Andreea is a 20 year-old Romanian girl from Constanta, a city in the south-west of Romania. She graduated high school last year. Since then she has been working in a solarium, but was recently made redundant. She is currently unemployed. She would like to go to university in 2 years time.

She wants to be an au pair because she likes children and travelling. She sees this as a good opportunity to discover England. She would like to be placed in London or in other cities or town around it.

Andreea likes aerobics and cycling. She also enjoys drawing and painting, reading, socialising with friends and listening to music. She likes going at the cinema with her friends and sightseeing.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Andreea likes getting involved in different activities that involve children. When her brother was younger she started to help his teacher organizing different parties for little children. She made almost all decorations, supervised children and made sure that they are safe, but they also have fun. She is a volunteer at her church for some years. They have a separate room at the church for Mums where they can leave their children (they leave them as long as the church's program runs). Andreea and another girl have to look after 5 or 6 children - different ages. She plays with them, helps them color in the coloring book, sings or just listen the program. She also looked after her brother daily. Because her Mum worked many hours, she had to look after him several hours a day. She cooked for him, helped him with his homework and prepared him for bed.

English Skills:

Her English was good and we had an interesting conversation.

Her mother tongue is Romanian and she also speaks French and Spanish (medium) and Italian (beginner).

Housework:

Andreea is prepared to undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), care for children, shopping (Food, Groceries), washing, ironing, cooking for children and caring for pets.

Character:

Andreea considers herself very sociable, honest, reliable, funny, shy (sometimes), ambitious and loyal.

Eating Habits:

Andreea likes eating fruits and vegetables, sweets and chicken meat. She doesn't like cheese.

Driving:

Andreea has not passed her driving test.

Family:

She lives with her Mum and her younger brother. Her Mum is 57 and is currently unemployed. Her brother is 14 years old and has finished the 8th degree. She has 3 brothers and 1 sister, but they are older and have their own families.
