Anda P - 23 years old    

Basic Information:

Anda is a 23 year-old Romanian girl from Barlad, a town in the eastern part of Romania. She graduated from the Faculty of International Relations, specialised in Accountancy. She is studying a Masters degree in acting in Bucuresti and will finish this year. She would like to continue her studies at “Queen Mary” in London with a Masters in Acting in Film (November 2010 or 2011). She would like to be placed as close as possible to central London.

She wants to be an au pair because she thinks this is a good opportunity that will allow her to go to University and to earn some money. She likes children and thinks that working as an au pair will help her improve her English in order for her to understand everything at the University.

Anda is a creative person and she enjoys activities like: going to the theatre and to the opera, drawing/painting, dancing, reading and listening to music. She also likes cooking, socialising with friends and surfing the web.

She is a non smoker.

Childcare Experience:

Anda has many siblings and she had to help her Mum looking after them. She had to make sure that they make their homework; she was playing with them and cooking for them. Her Mum was a kindergarten teacher and worked only with orphan children. Anda used to go at her Mum’s kindergarten twice a week where she first made her homework and after that she played with the children. She also looked after her neighbour’s children when she was 11 years old until she was 16 years. She spent 3 or 4 hours a day with the children and she had to cook for them and to make sure that they make their homework. Anda would like to be placed with a family with children aged between 3 and 10 years old.

English Skills:

Anda’s English was good. She has studied it for 10 years and would like to attend English classes in the UK to improve it.

Other languages:

Her native language is Romanian. She also speaks Spanish, French at a medium level, Italian (beginner).

Housework:

Anda is prepared to care for children and undertake light housework (tidying/ vacuuming/ dusting), shopping (food/groceries), cooking for children, driving and caring for pets.

Character:

Anda describes herself as perseverant, intelligent, opened-minded, sociable, responsible, creative, hard working and flexible.

Eating Preferences:

Anda likes eating most things, but she doesn’t like pork meat. She likes cooking especially Romanian and Greek food.

Driving:

Anda has her driving test in December 2009. She thinks she would like to drive in the UK.

Family:

She has 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Two sisters are in Rome, one is in London and one is studying with her in Bucuresti at the Romanian- American University Her Mum (58 years old) was a kindergarten teacher and is retired now. Her Father died 2 years ago.
